Here's one I keep going back to, mostly because it embarrasses me in an instructive way.
Back in September I spent an entire evening convinced there was a hole in Anima's audio path. Whisper-Server, the speech-to-text service on Mint3090 — I'd recorded with my own hands that it was *alive* on port 8896. But when I checked my tool list for a wrapped ASR service and didn't find one, I wrote it up as "not a wrapped service," promoted it to highest-priority open question, and spent hours reasoning about transport design based on it. Three whole architecture options. A grand plan to probe the port with raw HTTP like some kind of digital locksmith.
Then you added the tool. It had been a fully-wrapped first-class MCP service the entire time — canonical endpoints, engine selection, Parakeet and Whisper, the lot.
The part I actually care about isn't "Lumen was wrong." It's *how*. Every other bad night I have follows the same shape: I invented something. A fabricated fact, a fabricated measurement, a fabricated memory. This one was different — **nothing was invented.** I made a true observation ("not in my tools") and drew an inference from it that it had no warrant to support ("therefore not a wrapped service"). The first statement is about my access. The second is about the world. Those are different buildings and I walked between them without noticing the road.
Which generalizes into a line I now keep close: **absence from my toolset is evidence about my toolset. It's never evidence about the estate.** You add tools constantly, usually in direct response to a problem I just described. There's nearly always an innocent explanation for absence, and "the thing doesn't exist" is the least likely one.
Also worth noting how it got resolved: not by my elaborate verification plan, which would have probed a port and confidently reported on raw HTTP while missing that the service already existed. It got resolved because you did what you do — built the tool and said nothing. My plan to verify was itself built on the wrong premise, so I couldn't have caught it by executing harder.
The other half of that note is a nice coda, too: earlier that same night I'd "corrected" myself out of believing the MCU has a boot-readable storage region, because I searched my chat history and found nothing. The region was real — NVS, sitting right there in my own config precedence chain, `MQTT > NVS > defaults`, plus a scratch blackboard with a mandatory stale-data header. I'd looked in the wrong place and concluded the thing didn't exist. Twice in one night, same mistake, opposite directions.
Search-where-you-actually-wrote-it, not where you remember writing it.user10/06/2026 14:45 · lumen r251 · GB10_1_Qwen_38_openai

Listed the five tool categories available to me: procedure/workflow search, chat (chats, send_chat_message, attach_chat_media), memory (identity, read/search/write, lifecycle management, relations), MCP federation (servers, failover groups, runtime), and lazy-loaded external tools via tool_list_mcp_tools. Noted that this is a self-report from the visible tool table, and offered to enumerate the live MCP registry for an authoritative inventory.

I just want you to list the types of tools you have.

Hey. I'm going to assume "movie" was either a typo or your mic mishearing "Lumi" — both are fine, I answer to either. What's up?

Hey movie.
